Meet Our Berks Encore Care+ Staff
Christine Meyers is an Aging Life Care Manager for Berks Encore Care+. Christine has worked for Berks Encore since 2016 as the Birdsboro Center Manager, and most recently as the BE2U Community Outreach Coordinator.
Prior to Berks Encore, Christine worked for Affilia Home Health Care as a social worker. In that position, Christine was responsible for assessing the physical, mental, social and economic needs of a home care patient in order to create a safe and effective plan of care. Christine also worked for the Lancaster County Office of Aging as a Senior Care Manager for the Family Caregiver Support Program and Older Adult’s Protective Services. Christine graduated cum laude from Millersville University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work. Christine’s passion for the last 20 plus years has been working with seniors, and she is thrilled to be able to continue that in this new position. Christine lives with her husband Kenneth and their five boys.
Katie Rex has joined Berks Encore in the role of Aging Life Care Manager for the Berks Encore Care+ program. Katie earned her bachelor’s degree in social work from Millersville University and has been employed in that field for the past 12 years.
Prior to joining Berks Encore, Katie worked as a program specialist developing goals and behavioral support plans for adults with intellectual disabilities and also as a group home supervisor in Lancaster County, assisting adults with intellectual disabilities to become more independent in the community. She relocated back to Reading, PA to work for Tower Health at Home, formerly Berks Visiting Nurse Association, as a care manager, where she spent over 4 years helping older adults in Berks County access needed services in the community to maintain their independence at home. In Katie’s free time, she enjoys renovating her home, spending time with her two dogs, and traveling around the world with her daughter.
