Make health & wellness a priority at any age with Berks Encore. We provide a variety of programs and activities to help older adults remain engaged and active for years to come.

Resources to Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle

While we are not able to hold our Health & Wellness classes in person, you can participate in a zoom class. You must register with Kathy Roberts 484-388-3196 or email and she will provide instructions for accessing the classes.

Class Schedule: 

Good Morning Stretch & Stroll – 9:00-9:30 am Monday thru Friday. Includes 10 min. body stretch. 10 minute gentle power walk and 10 minute cool down.

Power Hour- 11:00 am – 12 noon. Tuesday & Thursday. use handweights, dynabands and body weight resistance to get in shape. Work the uppper body, lower body and core.

Fit & Fun- 2:00 -3:00 pm Tuesday & Friday. All around workout! 10 min. total body stretch with balance exercises, 10 min. paper plate workout w/dynaband, chair squats, cardio boxing, power walk, yoga stretches and a final cool down.

Spring Forward Walking Program – this self-directed Walk with Ease program includes a textbook, lesson handouts, a diary planner, and 1-hour conference call. You walk on your own 3 days a week. Class will start Monday March 22 for 6 consecutive weeks thru Monday April 26. REgister by March 15 by calling 484-388-3196 or

Live Well, Be Well with a Chronic Condition – this chronic disease self management course will be conducted via a weekly 1-hour teleconference call and includes a workbook, a relaxation CD and low impact exercise DVD (total $40 value). Program runs Thursdays 1:30 -2:30 pm for 6 consecutive weeks starting Thursday March 11 through Thursday April 22.

Looking for some ideas for healthy meals – check in with our Healthy Cooking class – one hour zoom program Wednesday March 24 from 10:00-11:00 am. This month’s class is Protein Power – protein is critical to help build muscles and fuel your energy!
