Sock It To Hunger

Help Berks Encore Sock It To Hunger: Show us your socks!

Community Breakfast honoree Eric “Mr. Freedom” Savage is known for many things: the Freedom Auto Group, his development of the Life Improvement Business, his dedication to the community, and his stars and stripes jacket. But did you know he’s also a crazy socks enthusiast? In his honor, we’re starting the Sock It To Hunger campaign to promote our Community Breakfast honoring Eric Savage. We want YOU to show us your crazy socks on Facebook or Twitter by using the #sockittohunger or #showusyoursocks hashtag.

Your picture will go a long way! For each picture posted, Craig Poole of the DoubleTree Hotel in Reading will donate $6.08, the full cost of a meal through our Meals on Wheels program!

Berks Encore Director of Development, Cameron Martin, shows off one of his many pairs of crazy socks!

How can I participate?

Have a pair of crazy (maybe they’re just fun, or perhaps they’re really crazy!) socks? Show them off! Take a photo of you and your socks – it could be in your office, at your house, or on the go—and upload that photo to either Twitter or Facebook. It’s easy, just follow these instructions for your social media platform of choice:

  • Twitter – Tag us @BerksEncore in your post on Twitter along with the hashtag #sockittohunger or #showusyoursocks,
  • Facebook – Either post the photo and your message to Berks Encore’s Facebook page OR create your own post and tag Berks Encore in that post via the @ function. Be sure to set your post to public so we can see it! Use either the #sockittohunger or #showusyoursocks hastag.

Have questions, or any social media difficulties? Email us at or send us a message on our Twitter or Facebook pages.

Coming to Community Breakfast?

All attendees will receive a pair of socks courtesy of Precision Medical Products and White Star Tours! The socks are beautifully handcrafted and sold by This Night.
