In addition to delivering more than 650 meals on wheels every Monday through Friday, we have now packed and delivered 2000 emergency food boxes filled with non-perishable food. These boxes are designed to supplement nutritional needs for Meals on Wheels clients and other at-risk seniors who visit our community centers for a daily lunch. We are still offering a noon meal for participants at our centers, but meals are now takeout, available Monday through Friday, with new protocols in place for pick up. Grocery shopping orders are still being delivered, but there is a waiting list to be served. Some of our volunteers who are at high risk are now staying home. To answer the call for help, we have heard from people who are out of work, or working reduced hours, and students who don’t have classes to go to – all of them wanting to help. The response has been amazing. We are so thankful for the outpouring of offers to help! You are helping us keep local seniors safe and fed! Thank you!
Thank You, Volunteers!
