…activities every day and they serve a hot meal

I think it’s important for seniors to have a place to go and chat and feel relevant. If you know an older person who seems like they want to stay shut in, suggest a visit to one of the local centers. They have activities every day and they serve a hot meal. Loneliness is hard enough, this can really be a lifeline. I pack the food in the kitchen one day a week. You’d be surprised how many volunteers it takes to coordinate this on a daily basis. Some days our Center feeds 175 people in the local area. That doesn’t include those folks that eat on site or take out. Berks Encore is always looking for new volunteers! Like you!
