What Happens When a Business Puts Community First?

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

Berkshire Systems Group, Inc.: Delivering Care and Compassion Across Berks County

At Berkshire Systems Group, Inc. (BSGI), giving back to the community is more than a motto—it’s part of the company’s DNA. From collecting donations to volunteering during work hours, BSGI believes that strengthening the community means supporting the people who live and work in it. One of the most impactful ways the company lives out this belief is through their ongoing partnership with Meals on Wheels Berks County.

Every Friday, two BSGI employees step away from their responsibilities at work, to deliver nutritious meals—and a dose of compassion—to elderly residents who are homebound or unable to cook for themselves. These visits are about more than just delivering food. They’re also a wellness check, a few minutes of friendly conversation, and a chance to brighten someone’s day. For BSGI, it’s a meaningful way to connect with neighbors in need and contribute to a cause that touches lives on a personal level.

This spirit of service is not limited to Meals on Wheels. BSGI proudly supports a variety of local organizations that align with the passions and values of their team including the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Mifflin Community Food Ministry, New Journey Community Outreach, Exeter Food Pantry Toy Drive, Mary’s Shelter and BSGI also incorporates service into its annual company meetings. In past years, employees have built and donated bicycles to local students, prepared hundreds of meals for organizations like Hope Rescue Mission and Opportunity House, created mason jar soup mixes for Meals on Wheels recipients and assembled thousands of “Power Packs” – shelf-stable food kits provided to local schools to ensure students who need extra support have access to weekend meals.

From meals and holiday gifts to sock drives and soup kitchens, Berkshire Systems Group, Inc. is committed to serving Berks County with heart. By empowering employees to give back during work hours and making community service a part of company culture, BSGI proves that business success and community support can go hand in hand. Because at BSGI, giving back isn’t just good—it’s who they are. Meals on Wheels Berks County are grateful for BSGI and their continued support of our mission to help seniors remain independent.
